So, this is my all new Website.
I know that my old site was a bit neglected, but I've decided to go all "Web 2.0". You see, the old website was a little hard on the paws to update, using a brace of tools that could be best described as "legacy" it required a lot of work to make even a small change, so, well, I admit it, it was far too easy to just leave it until tomorrow (and then the next day...).
This new site is all "data driven" and so can be updated in seconds, and, together with my new state of the art photo gallery (which I can upload to from anywhere, and then edit on-line!) means I'm hoping I can get a little more done.
As well as the new site, I'm going to embrace the "new media" by using my Twitter account (@Willard_Bear) and my Facebook account (once Facebook recognise my ursine existence and give me a nice short link!) to give you an up-to-the-minute feed of what I'm doing on my travels.
Some highlights from the new site:
The gallery allows viewing and downloading my pictures in a range of resolutions, so you are no longer limited to the low-resolution pictures I used to upload for speed
The layout template I'm using supports special iPhone and Android modes, for those of you who are, like me, on the move!
You should be able to get RSS feeds from any trip report or section you are interested in.
Not only can you view my pictures and travelogues, you can also rate them!
I've also enabled comments for all users in my photo albums (but we'll have to see how this goes - if it gets abused by those nasty spammers, it will get switched off!)
